very sexy

the day started really well for me. i had an early morning meeting and decided to spoil myself by taking a taxi to work. no way i can make it for the meeting on time if i take the bus! furthermore if i take the taxi, it'd mean that i didn't have to walk that much. perfect! i could wear my new killer heels. in black and pink snakeskin. very sexy. they're not really shoes for work but i figured i should wear them so that they'll be all comfortable when i wear them for really important dates.
i was on time for my meeting. everything went well. my double espresso woke me up sufficiently to function through the long meeting in french. i came out feeling really good with myself. maybe wearing my new killer heels in black and pink snakeskin had something to do with it, they kinda cancelled out that negativity that we often associate with monday blues.
i walked back to my office lugging a huge pile of folders and notes. i was humming tunelessly. almost lunchtime! my new killer heels were feeling nicely broken in. black and pink snakeskin, they were. very sexy.
with my head in the clouds, i didn't see an old photocopying machine on the floor of the corridor. somebody had left it there, for some unknown reason. it was right smack in the middle of the corridor. it had no right to be there. i fell over the damn thing, made a HUGE rackus. not very sexy.
everybody came rushing from their desks. saw my notes all over the floor. saw me hobbling around trying to sort out the files. saw my new killer heels (did i mention black and pink snakeskin?) and laughed. how cruel. it wasn't very funny. they'd assumed that i'd tripped because of my new killer heels in black and pink snakeskin. hmph!
now i have a giant red-turning-to-purple bruise. it hurts. i think i'll be wearing my sombre brown flats tomorrow. don't want to trip over anything else.
i love my new killer heels though. snakeskin. black. pink.
